CHI SIAMO

Last Friday was such an incredible and rewarding d Last Friday was such an incredible and rewarding day! 🤩💯 We were honoured to work alongside the staff of the Marine Protected Area of Punta Campanella and the Anton Dorhn Zoological Station, as well as Financial guards (Guardia di Finanza) and Coastal guards (Guardia Costiera) to release three loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) back into the sea. 🐢 It was such a beautiful moment to witness. We are sure they enjoy their regained freedom and we truly hope these turtles will grace the beautiful Mediterranean Sea for years to come. 💙

Every new day is another chance to make a change! Every new day is another chance to make a change! 💯 Last week we continued our series of beach cleanups by gathering together and helping our dear Marina della Lobra to shine again.

First, we started cleaning the small beach near our house which was covered with tiny pieces of glass, plastic and cigarette buds. Then we continued by cleaning the path along the coast. Trapped in rocks, we gathered an overwhelming amount of polystyrene, plastic bottles, bags and shoes. Again, it was an incredible teamwork that allowed us to accomplish great results 🏆💪🏻

The series of beach cleanups continue in full forc The series of beach cleanups continue in full force! 🐬♻️ This time we visited the mesmerizing Tordigliano. At the first glance, it seemed that the beach is clean. Howerver, once we took a closer look, between the rocks and other hidden spots, we discovered an overwhelming amount of plastic waste, mainly polystyrene, two big car tires, pieces of iron, and abandoned or lost fishing gear. After 1.5 hours of cleaning, we collected a lot of trash and made the beach beautiful again. 🏝

We wanted to use the opportunity and say thank you to the young man who, motivated by our collective action, helped us with the cleaning! Also, our special thanks and appreciation goes to the Comune di Massa Lubrense, Comune di Positano, Terra delle Sirene, società Multiservice and Associazione Macchia Mediterranea for helping us with the transport and a proper disposal of the trash the next day! 💙

Reality Check. Starting 2021 in a Right Way! Swip Reality Check. Starting 2021 in a Right Way!

Swipe right to see the Before & After 👉🏻

On Monday we went to Crapolla to do a beach clean-up. Upon arrival, we were shocked how much trash was washed out on such a small beach. Most of it was plastic, so much of it, as well as an enormous amount of polystyrene. Looking closer into the sand we could also find many tiny pieces of plastic, that most of the time are hard to spot and collect 👁 Honestly, this was upsetting. However, our team made a great job and a small but significant difference (as you can see in the pictures). We also tried to recycle rubbish straight away while collecting and putting it into appropriate bags. The next day, half of our team returned to Crapolla by boat to collect them!

Every single time, the harsh reminder of reality kicks in. Every place we’ve been, everywhere we’ve swam - full of plastic. Let’s make a collective effort every time we visit any natural place to leave it better than before. Our nature needs help more than ever, and it is our responsibility to try to make it a better place.

Remember, that if there is no blue, there is no green 🌍 Have a wonderful weekend!
